The preparation, tracking, and processing of blood, tissue and various other sample types to support laboratory and diagnostic analyses are offered through a variety of semi- and fully automated processing methods tailored to sample type, collection vessels and project criteria.
Our automated sample tracking and 2D barcode technologies ensure samples are maintained at requisite temperatures and our state-of-the-art technology solutions provide analytical data that is tracked and reportable throughout the testing process. Sample preparation capabilities include automated sample aliquoting, automated blood fractionation, normalized biomaterial aliquoting and distribution, and tissue preparation. IBX provides customized services for all volumes, sample types, concentrations, and quantities giving flexible client support based on project need
IBX offers a variety of storage capabilities. All systems are monitored with alarm systems and manually checked daily.
- Mechanical Storage: -70°C, -80°C, -20°C, 5°C Mechanical Storage units are monitored using Tempurity, SCADA 3000 Sensophone system, and Elpro alarm systems ensuring samples are maintained at continuous, appropriate temperatures
- Liquid Nitrogen Storage: -190°C (liquid and vapor phase) Liquid nitrogen storage is monitored using the SCADA 3000 Sensaphone system to ensure temperature is constantly maintained.
- Automated Storage: Hamilton SAM (Sample Access Manager) is a -80°C automated management system. The SAM can store up to 803 microplates, and includes integrated tube processing module that allows for users to “cherry pick” samples in a temperature controlled environment. The system temperature is continually monitored, and its design eliminates freeze thaw cycle of samples, and limits moisture introduction to maintain sample integrity.
